Refurbished computers donated to three schools through MTC's I-Tech for Teens project

Muangthai Capital Public Company Limited organised the ‘Muangthai Ruam Jai: Sharing Opportunities, Sharing Technology (I-Tech for Teens)’ project in recognition of the importance of information and communications technology (ICT) in education. Children with limited resources may lack access to computers—important tools for developing skills and opportunities—because of financial constraints and insufficient school budgets. This shortage can prevent young people from learning and developing their potential.

MTC therefore launched the project to refurbish and repair retired computers for appropriate reuse. This helps reduce and prevent future electronic waste (e-waste) from the organisation and its long-term harm to ecosystems and the environment. The computers are donated to schools with limited resources to help reduce inequality, improve education, support learning and expand equitable access to technology for young people in Thai society.

The project had donated 27 computers:

  • Five computers to Nakhon Thai Witthayakhom School, Nakhon Thai Subdistrict, Nakhon Thai District, Phitsanulok Province;
  • Ten computers to Mubaan Tua Yang School, Wang Chan Subdistrict, Sam Ngao District, Tak Province; and
  • Twelve computers to Ban Nong Khla School, Phu Toei Subdistrict, Wichian Buri District, Phetchabun Province.

MTC hopes the project will contribute to sustainable social and environmental development and help children and young people—the future of the nation—grow into capable adults.
